Vision: working with young people from the Merkinch and Dalneigh areas “where they are.” Avoiding “come to us” programs. Our heart is to have youth workers working in places that young people already congregate.

We work with young people in the Merkinch & Dalneigh areas, where there are all sorts of different family backgrounds from healthy homes to broken families and substance abuse. Our role is to see the person as a whole and to respond to the needs of the individual with hope and love.

Inverness Highschool  is one of the places that our youthworkers work everyday (almost as a part of the school staff.) We are trying to serve wherever there’s need.  We help out in a range of different subjects and in one-to-one’s with young people who can’t cope with the full timetables; we lead school assembles and provide a drop-in room every lunchtime in the school building.

We also help out in the local community centre youth clubs and meet young people in the local park.

It is hard to find ways to explain our work in too much detail as ‘where young people are’ can change overnight. As a result, we are constantly adapting to respond with love to the needs of the culture.
